Responsibilities
- Build secure full-stack authentication systems and high-quality web experiences affecting millions of users.
- Develop well-tested APIs, UX/UI components, analytics engines, and reusable authentication platform building blocks.
- Make tradeoffs across business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
- Drive technical decisions and lead technical discussions with teams across Stripe.
- Shape the team’s culture, roadmap, and vision through technical leadership, mentorship, and foresight.
- Support the growth and development of the engineering team and organization while maintaining a high quality bar.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in full-time software development roles.
- Experience serving as a technical lead by guiding a team, influencing its roadmap, and overseeing complex projects spanning multiple teams.
- Experience across both frontend and backend development with strong full-stack generalist ability.
- Preferred expertise at the intersection of security and authentication systems, including partnership with Security and Fraud teams.
- Preferred understanding of IAM concepts such as Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and identity governance.
- Preferred experience building scalable, resilient, and observable systems with strong frontend UX understanding.
- Excellent oral and written communication and the ability to collaborate across teams.
