Base Salary
$183k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end quality engineering strategy for complex features, systems, and platform integrations
- Architect, design, and implement scalable automated test frameworks for UI, API, integration, and system-level testing
- Define test strategies, risk assessments, and quality metrics aligned with product and engineering goals
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for web, backend, and platform services
- Drive automation guidelines, coding standards, and continuous improvement across quality engineering and development teams
- Mentor junior and mid-level SDETs and quality engineers through reviews, technical guidance, and testing strategy leadership
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, DevOps, and release teams to improve software quality and delivery efficiency
- Analyze test results, production issues, and system telemetry to identify root causes and implement lasting improvements
- Build and optimize CI/CD automation pipelines for continuous testing and rapid releases
- Advocate for shift-left testing, testability improvements, and a quality engineering culture
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- At least six years of SDET, quality engineering, or automation-focused software development experience
- Experience testing machine learning systems such as recommendation or search ranking systems
- Strong programming expertise in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages
- Extensive experience designing scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure from the ground up
- Advanced experience with Selenium, Appium, or UI Automation technologies
- Deep understanding of APIs, libraries, SDKs/application frameworks, native applications, microservices, and backend validation
- Strong experience with frontend frameworks such as React
- Experience implementing automated testing in CI/CD environments using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar tools
- Excellent technical communication, leadership, mentoring, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently lead large-scale quality initiatives and influence engineering guidelines
- Bonus: experience with gaming consoles, embedded systems, streaming devices, consumer electronics, developer tools, automation platforms, test infrastructure services, release pipelines, or QE transformation initiatives
