Base Salary
$70k - $126k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software components using C++, Java, or similar languages.
- Collaborate with program experts and user stakeholders to enhance existing software and develop new capabilities for system integration.
- Apply software engineering principles to produce modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault-tolerant, and reusable code.
- Create and maintain automated software builds and CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including PI Planning, Feature and Story development, Sprint Planning, retrospectives, and team ceremonies.
- Present completed work in team and program-level demonstrations and Sprint Reviews.
- Support defect resolution and rapid-response software activities during major test events.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from an ABET-accredited institution plus 2–4 years of experience in real-time software applications and simulations, or a relevant master's degree from an ABET-accredited institution with less than two years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Experience with Java and user-interface development.
- Experience with GitLab or Git for version control.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Knowledge and application of Agile methodologies such as SAFe in a technical or engineering environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations.
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance are required.
- Residence in the North Alabama area and availability for full-time onsite support are required.
- Preferred qualifications include DoD or missile-defense industry experience, Agile Scrum experience, Jira or VersionOne, CI/CD pipeline experience with tools such as Ansible or Jenkins, Python, modeling and simulation tools, multithreaded programming, and systems engineering concepts.
