Responsibilities

  • Gather engineering requirements, triage platform requests, and convert recurring friction into platform improvements.
  • Build self-service capabilities, golden paths, and reusable platform components that reduce ticket-driven work.
  • Design, build, and maintain platform tooling and automation across the software development lifecycle.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, builds, tests, and releases through CI/CD platforms.
  • Write and deploy Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Maintain highly available infrastructure and platform services and improve production monitoring and observability.
  • Implement security controls as code, including IAM least privilege, secrets management, and container image scanning.
  • Influence and educate engineering teams on platform engineering practices and cloud infrastructure security.
  • Participate in design reviews and architecture decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering or infrastructure engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with public cloud infrastructure, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience designing and building application containerisation solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience supporting Linux infrastructure and cloud-native workloads.
  • Extensive experience writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
  • Experience designing CI/CD, logging, and monitoring tools for development teams.
  • Experience implementing observability tools within Kubernetes and cloud-hosted workloads.
  • Scripting and deployment automation experience.
  • Experience working in a highly available production environment.
  • Consulting experience or experience in a company that builds and iterates at scale is advantageous.
  • GitOps and progressive delivery experience, including ArgoCD or Flux, is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with internal developer platforms such as Backstage, multi-tenant Kubernetes design, or SRE practices around SLOs and error budgets is desirable.
