Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support software across the full stack.
- Build backend services and REST APIs using Ruby on Rails and develop frontend applications using React, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
- Work with relational databases, SQL, Kafka, messaging technologies, and internal or external service integrations.
- Write unit and integration tests, maintain automated test coverage, participate in code reviews, and apply engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues, identify root causes, and participate in deployments, monitoring, production support, and on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and engineers on requirements, technical designs, implementation decisions, and documentation.
- Contribute to engineering processes, development tooling, and team practices.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails and frontend applications with React.
- Working knowledge of Ruby, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript, REST APIs, SQL, and relational databases.
- Experience writing automated tests and familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues, participate in production support, and work independently on defined technical problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with willingness and ability to learn new technologies and systems.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare technology, FHIR, HL7v2, CCDA/C-CDA, Mirth Connect, EHR/EMR integrations, Kafka or event-driven technologies, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, HIPAA-related requirements, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor.
