Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable observability tools and platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability practices into the development lifecycle.
- Lead the creation and adoption of standardized observability frameworks.
- Design and refine data pipelines that collect, aggregate, and normalize telemetry data.
- Advocate for high-quality code instrumentation and telemetry collection.
- Contribute to a service inventory that tracks changes and impacts.
- Share knowledge and promote innovation and excellence in observability.
Requirements
- Software engineering background with a focus on observability and monitoring distributed systems.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Sentry, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and the shell.
- Experience developing or adopting libraries for integration with observability tools.
- Coding skills in one or more relevant languages such as PHP, Java, Python, or Go.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Prior experience with data analytics and data pipelines is a bonus.
