Responsibilities
- Improve and protect the health of our datastores.
- Empower tech teams to use datastores efficiently.
- Collaborate with Database Architects and other SREs.
- Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure databases.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and maintenance of databases.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
- Provide documentation and tooling for feature teams.
- Mitigate production database issues during working hours.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience on a production platform.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with datastores such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Couchbase.
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Ruby, Python, Go, Java, etc.).
- Fluency in English.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools is a plus.
- Interest in troubleshooting performance issues in complex environments.
