Base Salary
$154k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own AIRStore ingestion, metadata, client, and read-path components end to end.
- Improve dataset throughput, latency, prefetching, parallelism, caching, and startup performance based on GPU utilization and training wall-clock impact.
- Build multi-region and multi-cloud capabilities across Meta data centers and third-party clouds.
- Implement correct dataset TTL, archival, expiration, and deletion behavior.
- Own compatibility, rollout safety, and blast-radius control for a widely embedded client library.
- Participate in on-call, lead production incident root-cause analysis, and deliver structural fixes.
- Partner with AI research and training teams, Manifold, Warm Storage, Privacy, and Crypto on cross-system changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production distributed systems or large-scale data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go, plus Python.
- Ability to diagnose production performance issues using profiling, tracing, and analysis of I/O, networking, and concurrency at scale.
- Experience owning production services, including on-call, incident response, and postmortem follow-through.
- Experience designing and delivering substantial system components with limited direction.
- Preferred experience with data lifecycle, retention, privacy-driven deletion, ML data pipelines, storage systems, multi-cloud or hybrid infrastructure, and S3-compatible object storage APIs.
- Preferred ongoing AI skill development, responsible AI practices, technical influence beyond the immediate team, and use of AI tools to improve workflows.

- Base salary of $154,003 to $217,006 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
