Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software for equipment that builds and tests medical devices, including robotic systems, instruments, and accessories.
- Build and maintain software infrastructure that enables value extraction from manufacturing data.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Understand product operations and controls and develop methods to ensure product integrity during volume production.
- Document, direct, and perform IQOQPQ and DQ validation activities for manufacturing equipment.
- Develop, document, and follow good software development practices.
- Own manufacturing software, support and enhance production software, and drive cross-functional projects to completion.
- Integrate software with hardware components such as PLCs, sensors, and robotics.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor less experienced engineers, and guide team projects.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while communicating progress and roadblocks to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably Software Engineering or Computer Science.
- 8+ years of software design and development experience; a higher degree can offset years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools, with C# and Python identified as a plus.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis, object-oriented design, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture.
- Experience with system-level design, software platform design, hardware integration, and developing and testing software from inception through launch.
- Experience driving, planning, executing, and delivering projects and proactively communicating about progress and roadblocks.
- Ability to technically lead and mentor engineers, work with vague and dynamic requirements, and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
- Preferred experience includes scalable production-quality software systems, the software development life cycle, industrial data engineering, robotic or electro-mechanical systems, control systems, medical device manufacturing, regulated engineering environments, software security principles, and industrial automation protocols.
