Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native platform features and services through production with limited guidance.
- Develop automation, tooling, Kubernetes platform services, operators, and controllers that other teams depend on.
- Break features into executable tasks, deliver iteratively, and communicate risks and trade-offs.
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation.
- Collaborate with senior and staff engineers on designs and platform standards.
- Support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building production software, including exposure to deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major hyperscaler—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and its core compute and networking primitives.
- Good programming skills in Go or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows.
- Experience delivering software features and improvements as a productive engineering team member.
- Experience using or critically evaluating AI in engineering work, including AI-powered coding or operational tooling and workflow automation.
- Preferred experience with managed Kubernetes such as EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Familiarity with GitOps delivery, Terraform, observability tooling, DNS, TLS, IAM, and on-call rotations.
