Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions for Roku video player development.
- Improve existing features and architectural quality, including performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Identify and resolve codebase performance bottlenecks and development-efficiency issues.
- Develop and maintain Roku applications using TypeScript and BrightScript.
- Participate in design and code reviews and support high-quality product delivery.
- Research and compare Roku development tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, program management, and QA teams on technology roadmaps and project goals.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry experience developing in TypeScript and/or BrightScript.
- Experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing Roku or other consumer TV applications.
- Experience delivering TypeScript and/or BrightScript solutions used by millions of global users.
- Experience collaborating with product and program management on technology roadmaps and project goals.
- Experience working with senior engineers and team leads to drive Roku development initiatives.
- Ability to balance performance, scalability, and user-experience trade-offs.
- Familiarity with multimedia frameworks and protocols such as MPEG-DASH and HLS.
- Passion for TV application development and the streaming space.
