Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software applications using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.js.
- Design and implement features and REST APIs within the established system architecture.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues in Linux-based embedded systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and reliable software delivery.
- Create and maintain unit and integration tests and support system testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Participate in code reviews and apply agreed coding standards and engineering practices.
- Estimate assigned work, communicate progress, and raise technical risks early.
Requirements
- Practical commercial experience developing applications with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working with modern web applications.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills in a Linux environment.
- Working knowledge of communication and transport protocols such as Ethernet, serial, and TLS/SSL.
- Experience with source control and collaborative software development practices.
- Fluent English, written and verbal.
- React.js experience is preferred.
- Docker containerisation experience is preferred.
- GitLab CI/CD or comparable automation platform experience is preferred.
- Linux system configuration experience is preferred.
- Exposure to IoT projects or hardware-software integration is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methods and Jira and Confluence is preferred.
- Rust experience is an additional advantage.
