Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver full-stack features across web interfaces, Python services, APIs, and data storage.
- Build responsive and accessible TypeScript and React interfaces integrated with backend services.
- Own well-defined features from planning through production and communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks.
- Collaborate with product management, designers, architects, and engineers on app discovery, publishing, and validation workflows.
- Write maintainable frontend and backend code, automated tests, and code reviews.
- Maintain services, investigate production issues, and resolve defects and performance bottlenecks across application layers.
- Improve logging, metrics, service-level indicators, reliability, and scalability on AWS.
- Apply secure development practices, document technical decisions, and share knowledge with teammates.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production web applications or SaaS products.
- Strong Python skills and production experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
- Practical frontend experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern framework such as React, including API integration and state management.
- Hands-on experience deploying, monitoring, or troubleshooting applications on AWS and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and NoSQL storage tradeoffs.
- Experience writing automated tests and working with Git, code reviews, and continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Ability to independently deliver features and debug issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.
- Clear written and verbal communication, collaboration in technical decisions, and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
- Preferred qualifications include React and frontend testing, web accessibility, browser performance optimization, message queues, asynchronous processing, Docker, Kubernetes, Django, Flask, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, application marketplaces, developer platforms, app validation tooling, or Splunk products.
