Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions.
- Maintain and enhance Alpha/Charles River modules, core frameworks, and other critical system facilities.
- Develop cloud-native services and software using Java, SQL, JavaScript, and related engineering technologies.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance for customer support teams, development teams, and large mission-critical client implementations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes.
- Write and execute unit, automation, manual, and other tests to ensure product quality.
- Improve development and testing methodologies and contribute to related testing frameworks.
- Participate in scrum activities including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate cross-team activities and mentor or guide others on software designs.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Java development, preferably in financial technology or financial markets.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical field.
- Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing cloud-native services with Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server or Oracle databases, with experience using relational database management systems.
- Experience with C#/.NET is a strong asset.
- Experience with event orchestration is a strong asset.
- Front-end development experience using React is a nice-to-have qualification.
