Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable Splunk Platform components across multiple cloud providers and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implement, test, deploy, debug, and review code for distributed systems.
- Develop automation and operational tooling using software engineering best practices.
- Improve service health indicators, observability, alerting, runbooks, SLOs, RPO/RTO targets, and recovery testing.
- Diagnose incidents, reduce operational risk, and limit customer impact through automation and recovery practices.
- Participate in technical design reviews and communicate engineering trade-offs.
- Mentor and guide junior and entry-level engineers.
Requirements
- Solid software engineering experience with Go and/or C++, plus Python or Bash scripting proficiency.
- Experience deploying and operating critical cloud-native applications at scale across SaaS and/or on-premises containerized environments.
- Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and raise issues when support is needed.
- Strong verbal and written English communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Preferred experience authoring Kubernetes-native software, including Operators and Controllers for stateful systems.
- Preferred understanding of cloud database management systems, especially PostgreSQL and modern NoSQL technologies.
- Preferred hands-on experience with Terraform, GitLab, Jenkins, and networking and security fundamentals.
