Responsibilities
- Manage capacity across public and private cloud resource pools and automate environment scaling.
- Improve cloud infrastructure reliability, availability, maintainability, robustness, and cost efficiency.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipeline elements for compiling, assembling, testing, and deploying containerized and non-containerized applications.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions on GCP.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Create and maintain application CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system and application issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Work with security teams to maintain compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Participate in 24/7 production-system on-call rotations.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools to improve infrastructure efficiency and performance.
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Go, for designing, coding, testing, and software delivery.
- In-depth understanding of Google product technology and architectures, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and tool development for customer-reported issues.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Strong understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, verbal communication, written communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, and secure coding practices.
- GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification is preferred.
