Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain flexible forward and reverse proxy service deployments with complex routing, protocol, and access-control requirements.
- Translate business traffic-forwarding requirements into deployable solutions using cloud products and in-house platforms.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on traffic solutions to improve deployment efficiency and time-to-value.
- Build and maintain observability pipelines for log collection, metrics aggregation, usage analysis, and traffic telemetry.
- Serve as the first point of contact for traffic-service incidents and inquiries by triaging issues, coordinating resolution, and communicating status.
- Document reusable solution patterns and configurations to support future delivery and onboarding.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related major.
- Strong understanding of OSI Layer 4–7 protocols, including TCP/UDP, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, TLS, DNS, and WebSocket.
- Hands-on experience with forward and reverse proxy mechanisms and tools such as Nginx, Envoy, or HAProxy.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across DNS resolution, load balancing, TLS handshakes, and application-layer failures.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AWS EKS/NLB, GCP Cloud Load Balancing, or comparable cloud traffic products.
- Development proficiency in Python, Go, or an equivalent language, with experience building internal tooling or traffic-management automation.
- Experience designing or maintaining data pipelines and observability infrastructure.
- Ability to process and interpret large volumes of traffic data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
