Base Salary
$171k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior stakeholders to frame problems, define success metrics, and align AI/ML roadmaps with business priorities.
- Lead the architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI/ML solutions for Wholesale Payments Operations.
- Write production-quality Python and establish engineering standards through code and design reviews.
- Deploy and operate scalable AI/ML services on AWS.
- Build solutions using data and text mining, document analysis, classification, OCR, NLP, computer vision, and LLM workflows including retrieval-augmented generation and fine-tuning.
- Design scalable and secure data pipelines for model training and inference.
- Define and enforce MLOps, model governance, monitoring, responsible AI, drift management, and reproducibility practices.
- Mentor engineers and support recruiting, talent development, and multi-quarter execution.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of professional AI/ML experience delivering production systems.
- At least 4 years of advanced Python development in production environments.
- At least 4 years of experience designing and deploying production machine learning systems on AWS, including services such as SageMaker, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and S3.
- Demonstrated experience delivering scalable AI/ML solutions with measurable business outcomes.
- Experience with object-oriented design, distributed systems, performance engineering, and production LLM applications.
- Hands-on experience with NLP, computer vision, OCR, or document AI solutions in production.
- Experience implementing MLOps with tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, feature stores, or model registries.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and driving execution against multi-quarter roadmaps.
- Strong communication skills for translating business needs into technical deliverables for senior stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes wholesale payments, transaction banking, financial services, model risk management, model governance, responsible AI, Kubernetes, Terraform, streaming inference, open-source ML contributions, or peer-reviewed publications.
