Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements and use cases into scalable data solutions.
  • Design and develop optimized, reliable, and secure data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
  • Build real-time data solutions using Scala, Apache Spark, and Azure Databricks.
  • Analyze business processes, identify gaps, and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Partner with data scientists and stakeholders to operationalize machine learning models.
  • Champion data governance, metadata management, data quality, and operational excellence.
  • Develop validation frameworks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in coding standards, peer reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of overall experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • At least 2 years of experience with PySpark, Hadoop, Kafka, EventHub, and Stream Analytics.
  • At least 3 years of experience with relational and dimensional data modeling, SQL Server, and data warehousing concepts.
  • At least 3 years of experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DB, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Two or more years of experience with Azure ML, Python, and Scala is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience with Power BI and Azure Analysis Services is preferred.
  • Experience gathering requirements and analyzing use cases with business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and software engineering skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems such as Git is preferred.
  • Azure Data Engineer Certification or equivalent is a strong advantage.
