Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Go-based Traffic Management System API for routing and traffic-steering configuration across the global edge fleet.
- Develop the edge agent that renders and applies routing configuration reliably across edge nodes.
- Build and extend BGP and Anycast routing capabilities, including configuration rendering, peer groups, route maps, and prefix filtering.
- Develop automated failover and high-availability solutions, including maintenance mode and capacity- and health-aware traffic offloading.
- Improve reliability with test coverage, configuration-rendering tests, end-to-end pipeline tests, metrics, and observability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, reliability, and resiliency.
- Handle and resolve production incidents effectively.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience and 3 or more years of experience with Go.
- Ability to work independently, own work end-to-end, and communicate proactively.
- Comfort working in Linux environments.
- Background in DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs and their use in maintaining system reliability.
- Proven experience with incident management and production issue resolution.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor is desirable.
- Familiarity with the DNS protocol and DNS server implementations is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience with BGP and TCP/IP are desirable.
