Java AWS AI Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots, reviews, and debugs secure, high-quality production software.
- Builds backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS services, and cloud provisioning tools.
- Leads adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices with validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Improves application stability by identifying and automating remediation of recurring issues.
- Evaluates external vendors, startups, and internal technical solutions for architectural fit.
- Leads, mentors, and supports software engineers at varying levels.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- 8+ years of strong experience coding with Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, AWS services, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Demonstrated experience leading responsible use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
- Understanding of secure handling of AI inputs and outputs, data sensitivity, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Leadership and mentoring experience with proficiency across the software development life cycle.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with large financial payments applications, AI-assisted development of secure applications, and AWS certification.
