Responsibilities

Define technology blueprints, solution options, impacts, and application technology roadmaps.
Introduce and evaluate technologies, methodologies, and processes, including presenting recommendations to management.
Advise technology and product teams on the design, engineering, and operational readiness of products and capabilities.
Drive technology modernization through repeatable architectural patterns, technology audits, and modernization opportunities.
Influence code standards, review processes, design patterns, and architectural standards.
Refine requirements based on user needs, cost, and integration with existing applications, systems, and platforms.
Ensure architecture supports software development lifecycle scope, estimates, and organizational objectives.
Research industry trends and lead hands-on proof-of-concept efforts.
Partner with infrastructure and data services teams to maintain solution consistency.
Lead discussions resolving complex technical and organizational problems.
Assist with complex technical support issues and participate in teams resolving persistent incidents and root causes.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent directly related work experience in place of the degree.
At least 15 years of experience designing and programming complex software applications.
Experience with modern application architecture principles, design patterns, and successful end-to-end system design.
Expertise in Java, J2EE frameworks, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, SQL, Apache Camel, and AWS Cloud technologies.
Experience with relational database design and querying, JavaScript frameworks, Docker, Web APIs, and microservice patterns.
Hands-on coding proficiency with AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot, experience building AI agents, and end-to-end architectural ownership.
Ability to communicate and collaborate across teams, build relationships, understand the full project development lifecycle, solve complex problems, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with technology and product associates at all levels.
