Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end application architectures for retail banking platforms using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Define architecture blueprints, integration patterns, reference implementations, documentation, diagrams, and decision records.
- Translate retail banking requirements into technical designs that improve customer journeys across digital channels.
- Guide development teams on clean coding, microservice decomposition, API design, secure transaction handling, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate Java and Spring Boot applications, identify modernization opportunities, and drive migration strategies.
- Ensure designs align with enterprise architecture standards, data governance, security controls, and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee performance, capacity, availability, observability, and validation through appropriate testing strategies.
- Coordinate deployment patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime configurations with infrastructure and DevOps teams.
- Conduct design and code reviews focused on correctness, performance, security, and engineering quality.
- Assess technology options, third-party components, and integration approaches while balancing cost, reliability, and compliance.
- Promote domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, and API-first development for reusable banking services.
- Partner with risk, compliance, and security teams on data privacy, transaction integrity, and fraud-prevention controls.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience architecting and implementing enterprise-grade applications using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking processes including account management, payments, loans, and customer onboarding.
- Practical understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, event streaming, and integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, caching solutions, and messaging technologies.
- Proficiency in secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption, and protection of sensitive customer information.
- Familiarity with cloud-ready application design, containerization, and CI/CD concepts.
- Ability to communicate complex architecture concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders across distributed teams.
- Professional certifications in Java or cloud architecture, such as Oracle Certified Professional Java or a major cloud architect certification, are preferred.
