Base Salary
$220k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement pricing and order-handling logic in an ultra-low-latency deterministic trading engine.
- Develop order-lifecycle mechanics and translate quantitative models and trading strategies into deterministic, testable production code.
- Optimize critical-path logic to meet strict end-to-end latency targets.
- Design state persistence, clustering, replication, failover, and recovery mechanisms for a stateful engine.
- Write automated unit, behavior-driven, and scenario-based tests for pricing and trading logic.
- Participate in code reviews, on-call rotation, incident response, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including significant senior or lead-level experience.
- Strong quantitative or financial background involving pricing models, market microstructure, order matching, or trading systems.
- Experience building and maintaining low-latency, high-throughput production systems.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization in a JVM-based language.
- Experience designing deterministic and reproducible systems where correctness and auditability are critical.
- Knowledge of numerical precision and decimal or fixed-point arithmetic for financial calculations.
- Proficiency with quantitative data analysis using data frames or similar tabular tools such as pandas, Polars, or R.
- Strong testing discipline, including behavior-driven or scenario-based testing for complex business logic.
- Experience with distributed systems concepts including consensus, clustering, state replication, and failover.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with broker-dealers, exchanges, ATSs, market data feeds, FIX or other trading protocols, event-sourced persistence, Kafka, regulated production environments, or advanced quantitative study is preferred.
