Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and integrate AI-powered tools and frameworks for UI authoring, iteration, and debugging
  • Own and evolve the UI technology codebase used for Unreal Engine tools and in-game UI
  • Set technical direction for UI tooling and mentor other engineers
  • Collaborate across disciplines to identify improvements, gather feedback, and design solutions for developer needs
  • Profile and resolve performance and memory issues in UI systems
  • Help Epic internal teams and Unreal Engine licensees solve UI challenges

Requirements

  • Strong background building tools that improve development workflows in games or other fields
  • Deep expertise in UI frameworks, runtime UI engines, and editor or WYSIWYG tooling
  • Excellent C++ skills and experience working in a large codebase
  • Some hands-on exposure to AI-powered or agentic workflows through work, courses, or personal projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Unreal Engine experience is a plus
  • Slate and/or UMG experience is a plus
  • Shipped title experience in games or real-time applications is a plus
