Responsibilities
- Design and develop search and platform features for Microsoft 365 Copilot and enterprise search experiences.
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance cloud services running across thousands of servers.
- Operate and manage the live Substrate Search cloud service.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and partners to understand requirements and deliver rich search experiences.
- Apply API design, machine learning, LLMs, distributed computing, and algorithm optimization to new systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least 2 years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Programming experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of C++, C#, or Java programming experience.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of distributed-systems experience and experience working in an agile development environment.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- Strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills.
