Base Salary
$114k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex iOS applications and shared platform components, including SDKs, libraries, and tooling.
- Define iOS architecture standards using Swift, SwiftUI, Combine or async-await, MVVM or MVI, and modularization.
- Own large initiatives from concept through production, including technical strategy, build optimization, observability, release management, and environment configuration.
- Lead discovery and high-level design for medium-to-large technical projects while partnering with product managers, architects, backend teams, and other stakeholders.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, crash analytics, and monitoring practices.
- Lead the migration of the consumer mobile application from React Native to fully native iOS, including migration sequencing, bridging, feature parity, and stability.
- Integrate on-device and cloud-powered AI/ML capabilities into iOS applications while addressing privacy, security, and performance.
- Troubleshoot production and business issues and champion automated testing, code quality, and secure mobile development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of professional iOS engineering experience, including significant experience leading architecture and technical direction for production consumer applications.
- Expert proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and modern iOS development and architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
- Working knowledge of React Native sufficient to assess existing code, plan a native migration, and bridge React Native with native modules.
- Experience leading the full development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, CI/CD, release management, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Experience partnering with backend teams on mobile APIs and offline-first solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery and high-level design initiatives.
- Experience championing automated testing, code quality standards, and secure mobile development practices.
- Strong collaboration and technical leadership skills across globally distributed engineering teams.
- Preferred experience leading a React Native-to-native migration in a production consumer application.
- Preferred experience in consumer health, digital health, or regulated industries.
- Preferred experience integrating on-device or cloud-powered AI/ML capabilities, such as Core ML.
- Preferred experience with GraphQL, Bluetooth Low Energy protocols, wearable or connected health device SDKs, and shared iOS platform components.
