Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, scope, success metrics, priorities, and executable delivery plans.
- Own technical strategy, architecture, and system quality for scalable services and APIs.
- Guide design reviews, review code, establish engineering standards, and drive automated quality checks.
- Evolve application and platform infrastructure to reduce operational overhead and improve developer productivity.
- Establish production operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, postmortems, reliability improvements, and auditability.
- Champion secure coding, authentication and authorization, and proactive vulnerability management.
- Deliver growth experiences such as user acquisition funnels, onboarding optimizations, experimentation frameworks, and integrations with global marketing platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience is required, with the broader role description emphasizing 8+ years.
- Proficiency in modern JVM ecosystems, including Java 17+, Kotlin, Spring, and Spring Boot, with knowledge of concurrency, IO/NIO, and network communication.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns, microservices architecture, and event-driven or streaming systems such as Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools including Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience developing large-scale system control interfaces and API- and integration-heavy production systems.
- Preferred experience building scalable growth features, referral systems, dynamic funnels, A/B testing frameworks, and data-informed onboarding or conversion optimization.
- Familiarity with AI and LLM product development and polyglot experience with Scala, JavaScript, Python, or Golang are preferred.
