Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end ML pipelines covering data, training, evaluation, inference, and deployment.
- Fine-tune and adapt models using methods including LoRA, QLoRA, SFT, DPO, and distillation.
- Architect and operate scalable inference systems while balancing latency, cost, and reliability.
- Design and maintain synthetic and real-world training data systems.
- Implement evaluation pipelines for performance, robustness, safety, and bias in partnership with research leadership.
- Own production deployment, including GPU optimization, memory efficiency, latency reduction, and scaling policies.
- Collaborate with application engineering to integrate ML systems into backend, mobile, and desktop products.
- Make pragmatic trade-offs, ship improvements quickly, and improve systems through real-world usage.
Requirements
- Strong background in deep learning and transformer-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying large-scale machine learning models in production.
- Proficiency with at least one modern machine learning framework, such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Experience with distributed training and inference frameworks, such as DeepSpeed, FSDP, Megatron, ZeRO, or Ray.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build robust, maintainable, production-grade systems.
- Experience with GPU optimization, memory efficiency, quantization, and mixed precision.
- Ability to own ambiguous zero-to-one ML systems end to end.
- Ideal qualifications include experience with vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, FasterTransformer, RLHF pipelines, PPO, DPO, ORPO, multimodal or diffusion models, Apache Arrow, and Spark.
- Contributions to open-source ML or systems libraries and background in scientific computing, compilers, or GPU kernels are valued.
