Responsibilities
- Implement optimizers from first principles and instrument gradient flow, learning-rate schedules, and regularization diagnostics.
- Build a production-standard course artifact including an instrumented optimizer and analytical brief.
- Use Python, ML frameworks, notebooks, containers, cloud VMs, GPU environments, experiment tracking, and visualization tools.
- Maintain reproducible experiments with pinned dependencies, seeded runs, containers, and documented decoding parameters.
- Create publication-standard technical explanations and educational content.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping production software, including 2+ years in production AI/ML.
- Fluency in probability and information theory, including likelihood, entropy, and KL divergence.
- Hands-on experience with Python, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Jupyter, Docker, AWS, GCP or Azure, Weights & Biases, Modal, and matplotlib.
- Ability to work with CPU and T4/A10 GPU environments and custom optimizer loops in PyTorch.
- Public technical writing samples such as documentation, workshop material, a book chapter, or a well-documented open-source project.
- Professional written English and strong reproducibility discipline.
