Responsibilities
- Develop and refine core infrastructure that enables software engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists to create, train, evaluate, deploy, and manage machine learning models and pipelines.
- Develop end-to-end ML systems spanning data engineering, model serving, monitoring, and the broader ML lifecycle.
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant, high-performance distributed systems for machine learning.
- Collaborate with product teams including Jira and Confluence to solve ML development and infrastructure challenges.
- Lead projects from technical design through launch and partner with engineering teams on company-wide initiatives.
- Write production code, conduct code reviews, create documentation, and fix bugs.
- Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- 6+ years of general software engineering experience, including 2+ years building machine learning and AI infrastructure, platforms, or systems.
- Proven expertise developing, deploying, and maintaining end-to-end machine learning systems.
- Extensive experience designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant, high-performance distributed systems for machine learning.
- Good proficiency in Python and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Some experience implementing MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for continuous model training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their AI/ML services and GPU compute resources.
- Preferred: experience with Spark, Ray, or Dask for large-scale data processing.
- Preferred: experience diagnosing and solving performance and optimization problems for ML models and infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience developing or fine-tuning large language models, using generative AI frameworks and tools, and building retrieval-augmented generation systems.
- Experience with Go, Java, or Scala is a bonus.
