Responsibilities
- Own features end to end from concept through production and iteration.
- Define what to build and why in collaboration with company leadership and the engineering team.
- Turn ambiguous problems into concrete user-facing products.
- Make technical and product decisions without complete specifications.
- Build and ship complex features for a large global consumer audience.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to move projects forward.
- Own meaningful product surfaces rather than isolated technical components.
- Use AI and agentic engineering tools to improve development velocity.
- Balance rapid execution with engineering quality and maintainability.
- Contribute to technical direction and engineering culture.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, equivalent to at least 84 months.
- Strong track record of shipping production software and consumer-facing products at meaningful scale.
- Proven ability to own complex features or products end to end.
- Experience as a founding engineer, early-stage startup engineer, or in a similarly autonomous environment.
- Strong product sense, engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and design intuition.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, define solutions without detailed specifications, and challenge decisions constructively.
- Experience using AI coding assistants, agentic development tools, and modern developer tooling.
- Strong bias toward action, experimentation, shipping, and first-principles thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership without constant direction.
- Preferred experience includes founding-engineer or first-engineer work, taking products from zero to launch, working directly with founders or senior leadership, building AI-powered or AI-native consumer products, and shipping products to millions of users.
