Responsibilities
- Design and implement low-latency backend services powering the core exchange.
- Profile and tune systems for latency, throughput, and memory performance.
- Build and maintain event-driven data pipelines and APIs using streaming platforms such as Kafka or Pulsar.
- Own production reliability, including incident diagnosis, postmortems, and corrective fixes.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and data engineers to integrate exchange services.
- Contribute to distributed-systems architecture focused on failure modes, graceful degradation, and recovery from partial outages.
Requirements
- Require 4 to 7+ years of professional backend development experience and strong proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and memory management in production systems.
- Have experience building and debugging high-throughput, low-latency systems on Linux through design and production operation.
- Bring strong correctness and defensive-programming instincts for systems with financial consequences.
- Work independently in a high-autonomy environment and identify and resolve problems without waiting to be unblocked.
- Trading systems, high-frequency trading, gaming, telecom, or other latency-sensitive experience is a plus.
- Production experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or similar streaming platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, or ZeroMQ is a plus.
- Experience deploying and operating cloud services such as AWS or GCP with containers and modern deployment tooling is a plus.
