Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and scale database products for internal needs.
- Create cloud-agnostic software infrastructure and abstractions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Lead complex cross-functional engineering initiatives from inception through production.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish software engineering best practices.
- Harden database infrastructure to meet uptime, security, and durability service-level requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead complex production incident investigations, and direct blameless post-mortems.
- Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to support scalable product capabilities.
Requirements
- US citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7–12 years of professional experience designing, building, operating, and scaling large-scale backend distributed systems in high-growth production environments.
- Knowledge of databases including PostgreSQL and Redis, with experience operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on coding proficiency in Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
- Extensive experience architecting infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including cloud networking constructs such as VPC peering, PrivateLink, and Transit Gateways.
- Experience automating global fleet deployment and configuration with Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Proven technical ownership, ability to turn ambiguous problems into concrete roadmaps, and experience delivering high-impact projects across multiple engineering teams.
