Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end test strategy, automation coverage, regression tiers, defect processes, and release-readiness standards.
  • Mentor QA and automation engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Architect and evolve automation frameworks for React/TypeScript front ends, Java/Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and Kafka-based pipelines.
  • Own API and contract testing, including REST Assured, Pact, Postman/Newman, authentication flows, pagination, throttling, and vendor error handling.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD quality gates with Jenkins or GitHub Actions and tiered regression execution.
  • Design and roll out self-healing automation using locator recovery, DOM similarity scoring, element fingerprinting, and confidence-based fallback.
  • Apply LLMs to test generation, manual-test conversion, failure summarization, root-cause suggestions, and QA workflow automation.
  • Develop flaky-test detection, failure classification, auto-quarantine, and guardrails for validating AI-generated tests and preventing false passes.
  • Track and report quality metrics such as defect leakage, automation coverage, flaky-test rate, mean time to detect, and release cycle time.
  • Partner with Development, Product, Support, and Sustenance teams to shift quality left and reduce customer-reported issues.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in QA or test engineering, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring a QA team.
  • Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch and owning release quality for a SaaS product.
  • Hands-on experience building, extending, or productionizing an AI-based or self-healing automation solution and measuring its impact.
  • Experience with Robot, Playwright and/or Selenium 4, TestNG or JUnit 5, and Cypress, Jest, or Vitest.
  • Experience with API automation, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, schema validation, Pact, service virtualization, and mocking tools such as WireMock.
  • Experience with performance testing using JMeter, k6, or Gatling, plus visual regression and accessibility testing.
  • Programming experience with Python, Java 17+, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with SQL and data validation on Oracle or similar databases.
  • Familiarity with microservices, Spring Boot, Kafka or other event-streaming systems, and authentication technologies including OAuth2 and JWT.
  • Experience integrating LLMs into test tooling through prompt design, structured outputs, and model calls; familiarity with self-healing locators, AI-assisted test generation, failure clustering, and log or trace summarization.
  • Experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, test-management tools, and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
  • Strong technical mentorship, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include cybersecurity experience in vulnerability management or Policy Compliance, testing multi-tenant SaaS at large data volumes, open-source testing contributions, familiarity with RAG or vector search, and experience with Healenium, Applitools, mabl, or Testim.
