Base Salary
$113k - $238k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the Mission Intelligence technical team and support data engineering, analytics, automation, systems engineering, software engineering, and analytic development initiatives.
- Develop analytics that combine, normalize, and enrich large datasets.
- Design and implement ETL workflows for data conversion and normalization.
- Augment the platform with new tools and technologies while ensuring reliability, availability, and quality.
- Gather stakeholder requirements, assess available data, and develop solutions for delivering key metrics.
- Remove technical obstacles, manage expectations, define task scope, and support team execution.
- Enable integration of site reliability engineering practices into the operational platform.
- Mentor and guide junior software engineers and data scientists.
- Produce project management materials including agendas, meeting notes, design decision records, and documentation.
- Support enterprise-scale platforms and lead Systems Engineering efforts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Travel locally up to 10% as required.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required, or 16 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- At least 20 years of experience as a Lead Systems Engineer on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Proven experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
- Strong Java development skills are required.
- Familiarity with customer authentication and authorization platforms and standards is required.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for service containerization and deployment is required.
- Familiarity with Git and Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence is required.
- Experience leading technical teams and collaborating across diverse backgrounds and skill sets is required.
- Experience or exposure to site reliability engineering principles is required.
- Desired qualifications include Apache NiFi experience, mission-focused customer engagement, sophisticated dataflow and automation expertise, engineering management plans, system and component-level requirements, automated test cases, continuous delivery environments, production transitions, and monitoring deployed systems and dataflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical ability, a customer service mindset, and willingness to contribute to internal and customer-facing documentation are desired.
