Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and implementation of a next-generation durable execution platform from scratch
- Design for 5–6 nines availability by addressing tail latency and distributed state-management edge cases
- Integrate AI/ML models for predictive scaling, bottleneck detection, intelligent error recovery, and self-healing
- Solve distributed locking, timer, and deterministic execution problems using data-driven architectural decisions
- Build reliable workflow infrastructure that supports hundreds of domain teams and large-scale traffic
- Work cross-functionally with product teams to provide infrastructure aligned with business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience
- Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems
- Preferred: 12+ years of professional software development experience supporting global-scale traffic
- Preferred: experience managing systems with 5–6 nines of availability
- Preferred: deep expertise designing and deploying mission-critical databases, messaging queues, or orchestration engines
- Preferred: expert-level Java and Python skills with an understanding of concurrency and memory management
- Preferred: experience or architectural vision for using AI/ML for system functionality and operational tasks
- Preferred: familiarity with Temporal or Cadence programming models and architecture
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and containerization
- Preferred: experience with Cassandra and TiDB
- Preferred: expertise in distributed tracing and advanced telemetry
