Base Salary

$106k - $243k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enhancements, updates, and programming changes for Lustre-based parallel file-system subsystems and Linux kernel I/O stacks.
  • Analyze designs and perform coding, programming, and integration for features such as layout evolution, Object Storage Target striping policies, and data tiering.
  • Write and execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation for storage subsystems.
  • Debug direct I/O call stacks, VFS bottlenecks, kernel panics, distributed state machines, and system-level I/O issues.
  • Develop reliable, high-performance storage solutions for HPC and AI workloads across enterprise storage architectures.
  • Communicate design status, project progress, and issue resolution with management and internal development partners.
  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to less-experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 4–7 years of experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C and capability in Python, Bash, or Rust.
  • Architectural knowledge of the Lustre file-system codebase and Linux operating-system internals, including page cache and memory management.
  • Experience designing and maintaining software systems on high-performance computing clusters and enterprise storage networks.
  • Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, performance profiling, and debugging with tracing tools such as strace and perf.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, collaboration, and English/local-language communication skills.
