Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and sustainable system architectures and designs for products, services, and enhancements.
- Defend the performance of critical services in alignment with customer expectations and SLOs.
- Own the strategy, direction, and roadmaps for Vertex AI services to improve reliability, efficiency, and feature velocity.
- Resolve outages and service disruptions and design solutions to prevent similar problems in the future.
- Collaborate with development teams to deliver enhancements that improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Provide Tier 1 on-call support for Vertex AI Online Prediction, Large Language Models, and other critical services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- 2 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or Systems Engineering roles managing large-scale infrastructure.
- 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- 3 years of experience in machine learning infrastructure.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Preferred: Experience supporting large production systems on compute infrastructure and working with networking, capacity, and performance.
- Preferred: Experience with large-scale systems, architecture design, and complex system integrations or migrations.
- Preferred: Experience supporting a Tier 1 rotation and expertise in SRE production principles and best practices.
