Base Salary
$126k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate multi-tenant distributed storage systems while balancing strategic infrastructure goals with immediate engineering needs.
- Improve service and infrastructure reliability, resilience, fault tolerance, availability, and self-healing capabilities.
- Define and configure metrics for incident detection and measuring service health, availability, and performance.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for storage infrastructure issues.
- Optimize infrastructure performance from the application level through the Linux kernel.
- Help plan and execute large-scale storage architecture and workload migrations when applicable.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience developing software and operating distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Experience operating or supporting stateful storage or database systems at scale, including durability, consistency, and recovery trade-offs.
- Experience using and extending containerization technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Expertise with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Understanding of Linux operating system internals and networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and routing.
- Customer-focused mindset and preference for automation and software-based solutions over manual operational processes.
- Preferred experience leading major storage architecture shifts and large-scale data or workload migrations.
- Preferred experience managing and scaling infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure multi-cloud environments.
- Preferred experience designing secure, multi-tenant runtime environments at scale.
