Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident/root-cause analysis.
- Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated outputs.
- Use software development lifecycle toolchain automation and approved AI-assisted development capabilities to improve engineering outcomes.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra, AWS, and AI.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering usage patterns.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
