Base Salary
$147k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select technologies.
- Design and develop network connectivity solutions for hybrid and multicloud environments, including data-plane and control-plane elements.
- Design and implement networking features for Google Distributed Cloud platforms.
- Support external Google Distributed Cloud customers experiencing issues in production clusters.
- Design and develop network virtualization solutions for container and virtual machine workloads running on Kubernetes platforms.
- Collaborate on solutions integration and validation with partners and customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with software development, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- At least 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or working with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, Python, or Go.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: Experience with cloud environments and understanding how large companies use cloud technologies.
- Preferred: Experience working with the open source community.
- Preferred: Familiarity with IPv6 and routing protocols.
- Preferred: Knowledge of kernel-level networking components and networking concepts including IPv4, IPv6, iptables, L4/L7 load balancing, and DNS.
