Base Salary
$115k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development efforts with a small team to create, improve, and maintain speech technology applications.
- Own the full software lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, deployment, and change-control documentation.
- Develop and migrate mixed C/C++ and Golang code, including secure Linux and Docker container development.
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time audio processing pipelines integrating ASR engines and TTS systems.
- Troubleshoot networking and RTP/SIP-level audio transport issues in production environments.
- Maintain and improve the performance, stability, scalability, and efficiency of multithreaded, multiprocess software.
- Interface with customer support and QA teams to identify features and resolve bugs.
- Architect new components, features, and services and contribute to the platform roadmap and strategic planning.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years working directly on production speech or real-time audio systems.
- Deep professional production proficiency in C/C++ and Golang.
- Hands-on production experience with ASR engines or TTS pipelines.
- Highly optimized multithreaded and multicore coding skills.
- Understanding of DevOps, build automation, and different types of testing.
- Familiarity with Git version control, branching, pull requests, and merging.
- Experience with at least one major cloud environment, such as AWS.
- Knowledge of advanced software algorithms and the ability to troubleshoot complex interrelated systems.
- Experience working across programming languages and technologies and following Secure Software Development Lifecycle practices.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed system designs and implementation plans.
- Preferred experience with container technologies and Kubernetes.
- Preferred networking experience with RTP, SIP, or VoIP protocol implementation or debugging in production audio pipelines.
- Preferred familiarity with DSP concepts including sample rates, codecs, voice activity detection, and noise suppression.
- Some Python experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres, Confluence, and Jira is preferred.
