Responsibilities
- Design and validate motor-control models in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Develop embedded features for synchronous, induction, and permanent magnet motors using C/C++.
- Integrate control-system firmware with other embedded software modules.
- Simulate and test models locally and on variable frequency drives and motors.
- Optimize code for performance, memory usage, simplicity, reliability, and safety.
- Lead code reviews and participate in requirements specifications with distributed teams.
- Investigate anomalies and explore new features and control algorithms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in motor control.
- Knowledge of motor-control algorithms for induction, synchronous, and permanent magnet motors.
- Experience with model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of power converters, converter control schemes, modulation strategies, and drive-system modeling.
- Laboratory testing experience and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Preferred: 8 years of embedded software development experience focused on model-based design and real-time systems.
- Preferred: experience developing motor drives, power converters, and associated control systems.
