Base Salary

$104k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain reliable software applications and services for ISR, defense, space, and national security missions.
  • Translate mission, system, and software requirements into scalable architectures, designs, interfaces, and technical solutions.
  • Develop software using modern programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, C#, and Rust.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, system, and automated tests; troubleshoot defects and performance issues; and support software verification and validation.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, embedded, test, cybersecurity, data, and mission engineering teams to integrate software into complex operational environments.
  • Support software deployment, configuration management, continuous integration/continuous delivery, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews, technical planning, code reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Apply secure software development, reliability, performance, and cybersecurity principles to mission-critical systems.
  • Travel up to 10% and work in office, laboratory, integration, test, and operational environments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 4 years of relevant professional experience; or a master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or 8 years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4–10 years of professional software development experience in production, mission-critical, aerospace, defense, intelligence, or other highly regulated technical environments.
  • Experience with one or more modern programming languages, including C++, Python, Java, C#, Rust, or similar.
  • Experience with object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, version control, debugging, testing, and software design patterns.
  • Experience developing and integrating software for distributed, embedded, real-time, data-processing, command-and-control, sensor, or other complex technical systems.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, issue tracking, code review, and build/deployment automation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance if required.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with ISR, intelligence, national security, defense, space, satellite, ground, or other mission-critical applications; an active U.S. Security Clearance; and experience with classified environments, secure software development, or DevSecOps.
