Responsibilities
- Own and ship a scoped software project from design through production with mentor support.
- Use coding agents to build software and review, test, and verify their output.
- Build an AI skill, tool, or agent workflow that remains useful to the team after the internship.
- Write evaluations and tests to measure and validate AI-powered work.
- Deliver production features used by ShopBack members globally.
Requirements
- Demonstrate clean coding, design patterns, data structures, APIs, and testing fundamentals.
- Have built projects outside of class, including side projects, hackathons, open source, or freelance work.
- Have applied AI by building an LLM API application, custom agent, MCP server, end-to-end automation, or prompt/model evaluation.
- Provide examples describing the problem, implementation, AI contribution, failures, fixes, and results.
- Be curious, skeptical of AI output, willing to learn quickly, and comfortable asking questions.
