Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain platform components including SSO, access management, clusters, networking, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Own Terraform modules, infrastructure state design, baseline configurations, guardrails, and multi-account governance.
  • Design platform golden paths, secure defaults, templates, standards, abstraction layers, and service catalogs.
  • Design and manage AWS multi-account landing zones, organizations, service control policies, permissions boundaries, and secure cross-account deployment workflows.
  • Design and operate ECS and EKS clusters, container execution practices, networking, and autoscaling for hundreds of services.
  • Manage VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, and secure east-west workload communication across accounts.
  • Build self-service developer tools, pipelines, service definitions, templates, documentation, workshops, and architectural guidance.
  • Operate platform-wide logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, and incident-handling practices.
  • Develop and contribute to application services and collaborate with application teams on platform contracts and runtime concerns.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on AWS experience, particularly with multi-account environments and organizational governance.
  • Strong experience as a Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer operating production systems at scale.
  • Deep Infrastructure as Code experience, especially with Terraform modules, state management, and guardrails.
  • Production experience running and operating EKS and/or ECS.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub-based workflows, OIDC, least privilege, and secure deployment patterns.
  • Experience designing developer platforms and internal self-service tooling.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, SCPs, permissions boundaries, and secure networking.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, SLOs, and incident handling.
  • Professional development experience with one or more of Java, Kotlin with Spring Boot, Node.js, or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with modern API design, service runtime concerns, and container-based workloads.
  • Ability to read, debug, and contribute to application code when needed.
