Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for MaxLinear SoCs, including low-level drivers, system boot code, RTOS abstraction layers, firmware features, and host applications.
  • Develop firmware to exercise hardware data paths and implement DSP algorithms.
  • Implement RF front-end control loops, ADC/DAC calibration, DPD, AGC, and power-control firmware.
  • Debug embedded firmware using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar instruments.
  • Tune and optimize the firmware stack.
  • Participate in unit testing, peer code reviews, design reviews, and collaboration with ASIC, algorithm, and systems engineers.

Requirements

  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience developing embedded firmware or software on an RTOS, including knowledge of ThreadX or FreeRTOS.
  • Experience with ARM or Tensilica processors.
  • In-depth understanding and implementation experience with digital signal processing for communication systems.
  • Experience implementing signal-processing algorithms in C.
  • Experience with embedded firmware debugging using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or similar instruments.
  • Experience with RF front-end control loops, ADC/DAC calibration, DPD, AGC, and power-control firmware.
  • In-depth understanding of version-control software such as SVN, Git, or Perforce.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA, Redmine, or Bugzilla.
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2–6 years of relevant experience.
