Base Salary
$142k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop state-of-the-art trajectory optimization algorithms for safe and comfortable autonomous-vehicle motion.
- Integrate trajectory-generation algorithms with the broader motion-planning architecture.
- Design and build robust, scalable, performance-critical C++ software for production autonomous vehicles.
- Evaluate control techniques and motion-planning algorithms using testing and simulation environments.
- Conduct code and design reviews and explain complex technical trade-offs to peers and leaders.
- Collaborate with behavior-planning, prediction, and vehicle-control teams on integrated solutions.
- Create project proposals and technical roadmaps spanning multiple subsystems.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a product-focused engineering and research culture.
Requirements
- 0–3+ years of C++ software-development experience, with educational projects, internships, and PhD research counting toward experience.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree preferred in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Model Predictive Control, motion planning, planning under uncertainty, vehicle dynamics and control, and simulation environments.
- Understanding of numerical optimization algorithms, including interior point methods and sequential quadratic programming.
- Experience with optimization solvers such as IPOPT and Gurobi.
- Experience owning and leading technical feature development from problem formulation and algorithm design through implementation.
- Knowledge of Python is a bonus.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
