Base Salary
$170k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build autonomy-stack components including planning behaviors, vehicle software, sensor and payload integration, and simulation.
- Develop the core on-vehicle software platform for integrating sensors, payloads, and software modules.
- Create and validate physically realistic simulations of UxS.
- Perform electronics prototyping and troubleshoot complex mixed hardware-software systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, efficient, testable, and reliable code.
- Travel up to 25% for onsite test and integration events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience building soft-realtime embedded systems or robotics software.
- Deep expertise in at least one systems language: C/C++, Rust, or Go.
- Hands-on experience implementing robotics algorithms such as path planning, state estimation, and behavior trees.
- Working knowledge of embedded systems, including SPI, I2C, serial protocols, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and microcontroller programming.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including NAT, mDNS, UDP/TCP, multicast, and firewall configuration.
- Preferred: contributions to deployed robotics or IoT systems requiring complex edge processing, such as aerospace or autonomous-vehicle systems.
- Preferred: experience with DDS/ROS2, ZeroMQ, gRPC, and Protobuf.
- Preferred: hands-on electronics skills including breadboarding, soldering, schematic interpretation, and datasheet analysis.
- Preferred: familiarity with OMS/UCI, STANAG 4586, and FACE government UxS interoperability standards.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR compliance.
